Ingredients List

  • 4 cups sugar

  • 1 can (13 oz) evaporated milk

  • 2 sticks marg. or butter (1 cup or 1/2 lb)

  • 1 tb vanilla extract

  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows

  • 2 cups nuts (optional)

YMMV: I recommend against exercising this option

  • 3 cups (18 oz) chocolate chips

How to Make

  1. Mix sugar, evaporated milk, butter and vanilla extract

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil

  3. Boil for 11 minutes, stirring constantly

Seriously if it burns or doesn’t boil, the fudge will suck

  4. Remove mixture from heat

  5. Add marshmallows, chocolate chips and optionally nuts.

  6. Beat until dissolved

  7. Pour into well buttered 13”x 9” pan

  8. Allow it to coalesce for 30 minutes before eating

Notes

This recipe is originally from my Grandmother, whom we have been estranged from for many years. My father adapted it some years back and has made it each Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday) as a way to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season for as long as I can remember.

I have made many variations of this over the years, usually by using different types of chips. White Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Butterscotch are my favorites.
